Channel 4 TV interview :
Last December, in up and coming Bay View, (a community just south of downtown Milwaukee), Future Green was introduced to the public. Lisa Rohatsch purchased the quaint brick building located on Kinnickinnic Ave in 2003. In 2004, she remodeled the interior using sustainable building practices whenever possible. The space is heated with radiant heat (beneath the finished concrete floor) and a wood burning stove. New thermal windows and solar tubes bring natural light into the space. Reclaimed brick, doors and glass block add a sense of authenticity to the space. Natural finishes and furnishing include: clay textured walls, low VOC paint, bamboo, linoleum, and fixtures made out of wheat-board.
She has since married her business partner, Swee Sim, and together they run a vibrant retail store with a variety of eco-friendly products: organic apparel, shoes and accessories, eco-babywear, organic/natural beds and bedding, furnishings and decorative accessories from sustainable or recycled sources, healty beauty products, and eco-friendly building products (flooring, paint, wall and window treatments). Lisa has traveled to Egypt, Africa and South America looking for healthy, eco-friendly product lines. Like Satara, many of Future Green also holds special events such as organic wine tasting, fashion shows featuring unique apparel made from organic and all natural fabrics, and Qigong classes. When you visit, make sure to peek at the restroom, there are some beautiful sustainable works of art in there as well.

“I really love all the toys-it’s the first thing I look for! After a little play I search out the new items that are always appearing.
